A night enveloped in the memory of a vibrant rock ‘n’ roll.
All members are anonymous, the world is fill with smoke, and there’s a cheesy rock ‘n’ roll with provocative lyrics playing. There was such a rock band once. Although their music has messages, they are familiar, and are still loved by many rock fans while being enveloped in many mysteries.
A legendary Japanese rock band also known for his enrollment in a man who closely resembles Kiyoshiro Imawano. It is THE TIMERS which was formed in 1988. A special edition board with an unreleased song etc added to its memorable 1st album “THE TIMERS” (released in 1989) was released on November 23, 2016. Following that, the rare event for one night only “THE TIMERS Special Edition release commemorative talk show and treasure screening held on the Terrace Table on the second floor of Terrace Square on 12 December of last year.
At the event where the songs of THE TIMERS flows in the air, we wrote the notes of this special edition board, first Mr. Takahashi Rock Me Baby who is also a passionate Imawano Kiyoshiro fan is handling the band’s promotion, he’s a former Toshiba EMI employee, following the footsteps of THE TIMERS, they warmed up the venue with talks that makes everyone laugh. Then, Mr. Sugiyama Shojimaru appeared. He is known as a person that closely resembles THE TIMERS drummer PAH. Furthermore, Sabu Chan aka Mr. Kiyoshi Yamamoto who served as the guitar technique of THE TIMERS also participated, and talked about secret stories which only the members who were inside the band knew about and everyone got excited hearing them.
At the time of the screening of some treasured pictures of the band, there was also the legendary live footage at the school festival where the entire crowd started to became turbulent and as a result the band was forced to stop playing.
Although they have extreme clothing and agitated lyrics, it is overflowing with the initial impulse of rock, and the melody which still resonates somewhere. And the performance by a person very similar to Mr. ZERRY aka Kiyoshiro Imawano who served as a band vocalist has been casting a burning and happy message that rock ‘n’ roll still exist.
The band did cover songs of The Monkees, also known because it was used in a television commercials, such as “Daydream Believer”, “Theme of Timers”, “Rock ‘n’ Honor” etc.
Even if the times changes, their music continues to attract a lot of people. The rock ‘n roll played by THE TIMERS and the real message appealing to the hearts of people still can not be faded.
