“Tokyo Infiorata Week” is held in the city of flowers during Tokyo’s spring.

It is said that the number of visitors to Japan will continue to grow year by year and will exceed 40 million in 2020, which will be the Olympic year. There’s been a continuous increase of 500,000 people every year in March in the past several years. The cause is “Hanami”. It is no exaggeration to say that flower viewing is one of the leading tourist culture in Japan. So we are planning to welcome the cherry-blossom viewers not only at the cherry-blossom viewing spot, but also in the various areas in Tokyo, the city’s town is a canvas of 20,000 people “Tokyo people” made as a flower welcome carpet, “Tokyo Infiorata Week” was held at 18 venues in Tokyo from March 18th to April 12th, 2017.

Organized by the “Hanami Cultural Association of Japan and Infiorata Associates Inc.” Yasuhiko Fujikawa, a flower painter introduced by TBS “Passion Continent”, also the general supervisor. The number of flower pictures made at the 18 venues this time had a total of 50 works. It was made with about 650,000 flowers (carnation, roses, freesia) and color sands.
At the Kanda Nishiki-cho venue held from the 25th to 29th March at Terrace Square outdoor plaza, about 100 citizen participated in the giant flower painting of a 10 meters diameter. The picture showed the appearance of the “Kanda myōjin mikoshi Miyairi worship” the motif represented the golden mikoshi of Kanda Nishiki-cho 3-chome town. The grand festival picture was completed on the whole square.

When Kanda Nishiki-cho 3-chome town council took the place, large magnolia, medium-sized shrine, and float cars were taken out from the store and displayed before the flower pictures, the venue became a gorgeous space like a festival. After completion, the performance by the local high school Brass Band section was also held.
“Tokyo Infiorata Week” will grow every year with the aim of being an event held throughout 100 venues in Tokyo until 2020 and we plan to cultivate this event to become a new tourism culture in Tokyo.
